  Digital Learning Now Act Expands School Choice Options for Local Families, More Students Gain Access to Virtual Instruction Programs Offered by the District School Board of Pasco County
  Land O’ Lakes, FL (July 19, 2011) – As back-to-school season arrives, Pasco families have exciting news to consider: recent legislation offers more options for participation in virtual instruction programs. For the first time, kindergarten and first grade students can enter Pasco eSchool without having been enrolled in a Florida public school for the previous school year. Some elementary students will have an option to accelerate their learning in grades K-5 by incorporating virtual courses as a part of their school day.
  The centerpiece of our dynamic program will be the launch of our district-led K-5 program offering local highly-qualified teachers who use the Calvert Partners curriculum. This exciting new option blends tradition and innovation to personalize learning for each student. The benefits of Pasco eSchool’s new elementary program include:

  Middle and high school students throughout Pasco county have the option to take virtual courses on a full time or part time basis. As a local franchise of the Florida Virtual School, Pasco eSchool has established itself as a high-performing virtual program with the second highest overall successful completion rate. Pasco eSchool can serve home education, charter school, private school, and public school students.
  In 2011-2012, Pasco eSchool expands its course catalog beyond the offerings of FLVS to include courses from leading providers including Aventa Learning, Carone Fitness, and more. New courses include Digital Photography, Digital Video Production, French, Forensic Science, Game Design, German, AP Psychology, and other popular electives.
